Steve Meyer- Burgh Nation Host ![]() Hello Nation… This is Steve! I wanted to introduce myself to yinz! My name is Steve Meyer, I was born and raised in the south hills right next to Caste Village in Whitehall. I graduated from Baldwin High School and have a degree in Music from Geneva College and on a side note a Music degree is as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. You will notice from reading and listening to me that I probably have un diagnosed A.D.D. I will go from talking about Football to talking about the history of Luxemburg in seconds and you will think to yourself “How the heck did we end up here?” As for the stuff posted on the webpage, Logan and Dan will probably post things about sports and other Pittsburgh related things, my posts will be a little bit more random and off the wall because my life is just full of ridiculous, ironic, weird, and really funny things. You see Logan is your typical college student, Dan is a Chemist that works a typical 9-5, I am a Youth Pastor and have no set work schedule. For Me no two days are the same, for example today! I woke up and the Land Lord is in the basement working on my hot water heater so I couldn’t take a shower. I start the day in a meeting with my boss and the Janitor discussing who is setting up the tables and when… that literally took an hour. Then had to eat a quick lunch and while eating we notice the opening to the roof blew open. So I had to climb a 150 ladder to close it! Went to a meeting at another church to see how they record their service, then back to my office to talk a teenager through some high school drama. Finally ending the night with a Bible Study, after which I finally get a chance to sit at my desk for the first time all day and it is 8:30PM. Now that was a normal day, just running from one thing to another in border line chaos. In the border line chaos come moments of pure and absolute ridiculousness. Another fun fact about the Burgh Nation guys,(told you I had A.D.D.) Logan has been dating a girl way Way WAY out of his league for 4 years, Dan is in the funniest, strangest, happiest relationship I have ever seen and they just got engage. I on the other hand have not had long term relationship in years. I go out on dates but once you get to my age there are only crazies left. Just the other night I called in an order for dinner, when they asked for my name I always say something funny. I told her my name was “Beautiful” to which she responds with “So I will just put down my name.” So I am thinking oh yeah she is flirting with me, so when I get there to pick up the food I start hitting on her and guess what? She is flirting back! So this goes on for a few minutes and I am thinking she look kind of young so I asked how old are you. She laughs and says “Don’t worry I am of age, I am 19.” I hear guy yell “Order for Beautiful,” I yell “I’M BEAUTIFUL!” then to her “It was nice talking to ya!” Then boom I run out the door as fast as I can. No 28-year-old should be flirting with teenagers… GET IT TOGETHER MEYER! The truth is I flirt with everyone, my Grandpap used to flirt with every waitress we ever had. So because my Grandpap was an awesome Pittsburgher and overall awesome guy, I try to be like him. It started with golfing when I was a kid, he golfed so I wanted to. Then a love for Sports, he watched a ton of sports so I did. Then flirting with waitresses that has evolved into me just flirting with all women regardless of age of marital status. Some really great stories come from my flirting but I will save those for later. Moral of the story is, I watch to much TV and get in awkward situations cause I act like my Grandpap. Sport might have started with Grandpap but I can’t leave out dear old Dad. My dad was my coach, we started a contest picking winners of football games when I was 8. He took me to every home and away high school football game starting when I was in 3rd grade. I have never played a down of organized football but know more about the game than most those jags you see on T.V. That’s all because of you Dad, so thank you! I figure my Dad and maybe 2 other have read this far so thank you if you had. Be sure to come back again to check out what Dan and Logan have to say and maybe if you get bored read the ramblings of a True Pittsburgher…ME! T. Pgher S.M.
